An authorised driver is only the individual who is expressly listed and identified in the Rental Agreement. This may be the renter or an additionally registered driver. Any person who is not listed in the agreement is not authorised to drive the vehicle, and allowing an unauthorised person to operate the vehicle is considered a serious breach of the rental terms.
Every driver must hold a valid driving licence recognised in Serbia, or a recognised international driving permit, together with a supporting identification document (ID card or passport). There are clear criteria regarding age and the length of time the driving licence has been held, depending on the vehicle class. For example, certain vehicle groups require a minimum age of 21 and at least two years of driving experience, while luxury models may require much stricter conditions, including 28 years of age and five years of experience.
Please note that a special fee applies to drivers under 26 and over 76 years of age, while the maximum age for all vehicle groups is limited to 80 years. If the vehicle is entrusted to an unauthorised person, that driver will not be covered by insurance, and the renter assumes full responsibility for all possible damage, fines and legal consequences that may arise from such a decision.
